Cicero, Ill. - The Elgin Community College softball team split a pair of games with Morton on Monday afternoon.
The Spartans improve to 5-19 overall and 4-6 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.
Game One: Elgin 0, Morton 3
Alyson Sebahar pitched the full six innings and collected three strikeouts.
Kenya Ventura registered the lone hit of the game.
Game Two: Elgin 5, Morton 1
Ventura earned her second win of the season as she struck out five batters in seven innings.
ECC scored one run in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead. Jamyra Thomas hit her first collegiate grand slam in the third to collect four RBI and secure the five-run lead.
Morton scored one run in the seventh for the Spartans to take game two.
The Spartans are back on the road to face Kankakee in a doubleheader on Thursday. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
