Softball Falls in Pair of ISCC Games

Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College softball team suffered a pair of losses to Moraine Valley on Monday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 1-13 overall and 0-4 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.

Game One: MVCC 10, ECC 1

Moraine Valley led the entirety of the game with runs in the first, second and fourth innings to score 10.

Ava Faber led off the fourth inning with a walk. She advanced to second on a passed ball during Alyson Sebahar's at-bat and to third on Sebahar's groundout. Zoe Kaler earned an RBI single to score the lone Elgin run of the game.

Game Two: ECC 4, MVCC 6

ECC took and held an early lead after scoring one run in the second inning. Kaler and Chloe Potter hit back-to-back singles and both advanced on a wild pitch while Maile Fuller was batting. Fuller hit a hard grounder to the pitcher to allow Kaler to score.

MVCC scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead.

Elgin fought back but came up just short after bringing in three runs in the top of the seventh. Kaler and Potter hit singles and Kaler scored on Jamyra Thomas' single to left field. Potter and Thomas scored on Julissa Aguinaga's hit to center field for a 6-4 final score.

The Spartans host Oakton for a doubleheader on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
