Rockford, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's golf team finished eighth out of 13 teams at the Highland Spring Invite on Monday afternoon.

The event consisted of two rounds of 18 holes with a par of 72 for both.

Ethan Ward tied for 11th out of 83 golfers after hitting a combined 152, eight over par.

Nooa Hakala, who is currently ranked 73rd nationally, finished in a four-way tie for 14th with a 153.

Ethan Ward tied for 42nd (162), Nicholas Heinrich finished in a tie for 67th (173), Michael Buono placed 75th (183) and Jack Karpowicz finished in 78th (189).

Next up for the Spartans is the Region 4 Championship. It will be held at PrairieView Golf Club in Byron, Ill. on April 26 and 27.
