Madison, Wis. - The Elgin Community College baseball team suffered a 6-2 loss to No. 8 Madison on Thursday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 10-18 in their overall record.

Leth Pearson pitched six innings with three strikeouts and allowed three runs. Nic DiMarzio and Brady Rickert each pitched one inning of relief.

Connor Lund and Ryan Schneider recorded one RBI each as Lund and Reed Burns tallied a team-high two hits. Nathan Gerritsen hit his ninth double of the season and scored two runs.

Elgin hosts Moraine Valley for a single game on Friday starting at 3 p.m.
