Baseball Sweeps Prairie State

Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College baseball team picked up two conference wins on Wednesday afternoon.

The Spartans improve to 7-15 overall and 2-2 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.

Game One: Prairie State 4, Elgin 10

Caleb Williams made his second collegiate start and struckout four batters in two innings. Matthew Rosado earned his first win with no runs allowed in five innings.

Prairie State took an early four run lead in the top of the first inning, but ECC prevented additional runs from scoring for the rest of the game.

Ryan Schneider hit his second homerun of the season to bring in two RBI. Brennan Coyle had a team best two runs on three hits and three RBI. Wyatt Sabalaskey hit two doubles with Nathan Gerritsen and Alex Bihun recording one apiece.

Game Two: PSC 4, ECC 9

Leth Pearson picked up his second win of the season as he tallied five strikeouts in five innings. Kyle Wayda and Jack Bennett each pitched one inning of relief.

Gerritsen and Maddux Clarence doubled and registered two RBI apiece. Reed Burns, Matthew Brunscheen and Gerritsen each collected two hits.

The Spartans travel to Waubonsee on Friday for a single game starting at 3 p.m. Then they turnaround to host Waubonsee on Saturday at noon.
